Come
celebrate the thirteenth annual Audubon Arts on the Edge on
Saturday, June 7, on Audubon Street in downtown New Haven.
This free arts and entertainment event takes place, rain or
shine, from noon until 7 pm, with music, dancing and hands-on
activities to entertain the entire family.
Events at Audubon Arts on the Edge kick off at noon with the
Traveling Art Van with Carmella Ricciardelli, face painting
with Porsche Edmundson, the “Have Bones Will Travel”
program with the Yale School of Nursing, and language lessons
with Aux Trois Pommes.
Festivities continue throughout the day, as families can build
straw geometry hats with Joy Wulke, create and play drums
with Baba Coleman, dance to Neighborhood Music School’s
Steel Drum Band, and laugh to kid’s comedy provided
by the New Haven Theatre Company. Visitors can also take in
a Punch and Judy puppet show with Don Wunderlee, groove to
jazz and Latin tunes provided by students at ACES Educational
Center for the Arts, make their mark with chalk art, and dance
with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, courtesy of the International
Festival of Arts and Ideas. KC101.3 will be live on Audubon
Street from 1-3 pm and from 4-7 pm, families can “Find
all Nine” coordinated gallery openings in or around
Audubon.
In the evening, festivities continue at Koffee on Audubon.
At 7 pm, Koffee will host a poetry slam. At 9 pm, a movie
will be shown outdoors.
Stop by and celebrate Audubon Arts on the Edge on Saturday,
June 7 and see why Audubon has been hailed as one of the greatest
streets in New England!
