COMMUNITY RESOURCES

for LGBTQIA+ folks and immigrants

As we continue tracking the changes to policy at the federal, state, and regional levels, we are committed to sharing vetted resources with all of you. The Arts Council of Greater New Haven is actively supporting cross-sector coalitions focused on LGBTQIA+ and immigrant protections in our community. These resources come directly from our work with these groups.

    National Updates

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) recently shared several important policy and timeline updates.

The Challenge America opportunity is canceled for FY2026.

The new Grants for Arts Projects deadline shifted to March 11, 2025 (for GAP 1) and July 10, 2025 (for GAP 2). Under the updated guidelines, priority will be given to applications for projects taking place between 2026-2027 which celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Additionally, Grants for Arts Projects applicants must now provide a 5 year history (increased from 3 years) of arts programming. As with all federal funding, all grantees will be required to comply with new Executive Orders. Applicants should review the new legal guidelines, in collaboration with their board and legal counsel, to determine any impact on their organizations.

You can learn more about these and other changes to the NEA's programs at their upcoming webinar on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 2pm Eastern. Registration is required.
