Dear advocacy community,
Our friends at CT Arts Alliance shared an advocacy alert with us that I think you'll want to know about.
The turnaround is tight, and we won't have capacity to do a broader advocacy alert and toolkit of our own, but I hope you will consider joining the effort. Our collective strategy for arts advocacy is two-pronged:
1) secure and expand funding from state revenue sources for arts + culture activity, 2) and work in solidarity with intersecting issues that impact the arts + culture sector.
This alert aligns with the first priority. For this alert, CAA requests that we flood our legislators with written testimony in support of SB 1551. Why aren't we pushing oral testimony? Sometimes it can backfire. In this case, believe that it is in our best interest to not push for a high volume of speakers and that it is more effective to flood their system with favorable written testimony.
Public Hearing Date: Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 10:00 AM
Written Testimony Due: Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM
