Annual Westville ArtWalk, May 11, 6-10 p.m. & May 12, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Westville

The Westville Village ArtWalk is a free, annual, community-based arts festival that spans three blocks in Historic Westville Village and Edgewood Park every Mother's Day weekend. Featuring a full day of live music, art exhibitions and demonstrations, interactive art-making for kids and adults, theater performances, walking tours, and a 30+ vendor Artist & Artisan Market, ArtWalk traditionally draws between 8,000-10,000 visitors. This is a superbly fun day for kids and adults of all ages.

 The Magical Mystery of Shaman Pablo Amaringo. Opening Reception May 11, 6-8 p.m., DaSilva Gallery. Pablo Cesar Amaringo Shuña (1938 – 2009) was an acclaimed Peruvian artist, renowned for his intricate, colorful depictions of his visions from drinking the entheogenic plant brew ayahuasca. New Haven Chamber Orchestra Concert, May 12, 2 p.m., Fair Haven School.  

Concert features winners of the Orchestra's annual concerto competition for New Haven Public School students and works by Tchaikovsky. Students from New Haven Public Schools will join the orchestra in a finale. Admission is free.

Mother's Day Open House, May 12, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 188 North Main Street, Branford. 
Join local artists Cynthia Purcell, Owen Sea Luckey and Martha Link Walsh for a special Mother's Day Open House to honor the moms in your life. Stop at one location to find a keepsake work of art, seasonal custom bouquets and plants, or a unique outfit just in time for Mother's Day. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
