This month's FREE story hour is inspired by the art of George Corsillo – on view now at KLG through August 18 in a new retrospective, "More is More." Over the last forty years, George Corsillo has produced some exciting, and often iconic art, creating numerous album and book covers, posters, tour merchandise, and more, for celebrities such as John Mellencamp, Luther Vandross, Pat Benatar, Yoko Ono, Carrie Fisher, the Eagles, to name a few. Inspired particularly by his album covers, we will read "Giraffes Can't Dance," throw a mini-dance party to some of the tunes from "Grease" – the album cover for the original soundtrack was designed by George – and create some George-inspired collages. This event is free and open to children of all ages. All materials provided. This event is presented by ArtEcon Initiative and made possible from the Department of Economic and CommunityDevelopment, CT Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
