New Haven, CT 06511

Guest conductor Carlos Kalmar, whose Carnegie Hall debut with the Oregon Symphony was described by The New Yorker's Alex Ross as "one of the most gripping events" of that season, leads the Yale Philharmonia in a performance of faculty composer Aaron Jay Kernis's "Too Hot" Toccata, Bartók's Violin Concerto No. 2, with Woolsey Hall Concerto Competition winner Emily Switzer, and Schoenberg's orchestral arrangement of Brahms's Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor.
