Sometimes museum artifacts and specimens are transferred to the peoples of the cultures from which they came. How do museums decide what to return? What does the repatriation process look like? What types of objects are included? Jessie Cohen will discuss how the Peabody is working with indigenous communities to accomplish repatriations as most of the Museum’s anthropology collections move to Yale’s West Campus in advance of the Peabody’s renovation.
