Gallery One is a diverse group of established artists who use current modes of expression in a variety of contemporary media. Their common bond is a commitment to each artist’s individual voice and evolution. Each artist represents a different background and tradition which is clearly visible in the art. How each artist interprets the world and works with materials transforms into unique images and the hanging of their artwork intentionally emphasizes connections among various representational and abstract works. Reception on Friday, April 26 from 5-7pm with Live Jazz by Matt McCauley on bass and Joel Spineti on piano. Closing reception on Saturday, May 11 from 3-5pm with talk by former museum conservator Forrest Bailey—“Answers to Questions You Didn’t Even Know You Had About Painting/Paintings,” of interest to artists and non-artists alike. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm, and Sunday noon to 4pm.
