The following citizen contribution was submitted by Nancy Nearing, a polymer clay artist who lives in Hamden's Spring Glen neighborhood and participated in its inaugural art walk.

As a determined fall sun soaked the pavement on a recent Saturday, Spring Glen artists banded together to host a neighborhood art walk. Fifteen artists set up shop in their yards, and many families braved the cold to see what the neighbors could do.

There was a good variety of work, all made by the artists who displayed them: paintings and drawings, greeting cards, ornaments, jewelry, carved wood, polymer ornaments and earrings, quilted pieces, and fabric baby items. Learn more about the Spring Glen Art Walk here
