What does food insecurity look like for families in New Haven, and how can urban farming work to counter it?  What has the sugar lobby done to nutrition in our neighborhoods and cities? What does a "food desert" really mean, after the term is demystified? And how can we start seeing food as medicine?

On this episode of "Kitchen Sync," host Lucy Gellman talks to New Haven Farms Executive Director Jacqueline Maisonpierre about the organization's seven years of work in New Haven, what exactly a farm-based wellness program looks like, and how Maisonpierre is handling her own transition from Farm Manager to Executive Director, to which she was appointed in March 2018.
