This new show stars four of the funniest and most amazing magic acts from America's Got Talent & Penn & Teller’s “Fool Us.”  America Has Magic is a blend of comedy, magic and mindreading that will make you laugh and blow your mind! Featuring Derek Hughes, The Evasons (world famous mentalist duo Jeff & Tessa Evason), Zabrecky, and Mac King.

The Commons, April 26, 5-9 p.m., Bradley Street Bicycle Co-Op. 
The Arts Council of Greater New Haven's monthly event series in partnership with creative firm Breakfast Lunch & Dinner is free and open to the public. The Commons is a collision of arts, culture, and community at rotating venues throughout Greater New Haven. Each event brings Greater New Haven’s various creative communities together to create new friendships, bonds and spark future creative collaborations. 
All events in the series will feature various forms of local music, artistic demonstrations, and the chance to share a fantastic evening of drink and food with other members of the New Haven community. Free!

Art as Activism Conversation & Closing Reception, April 30, 6-8 p.m., New Haven Pride Center.

The New Haven Pride Center and the Arts Council of Greater New Haven present a special panel on artwork as activism with New Haven and Connecticut artists in conversation, all to the backdrop of the New Haven Pride Center’s latest exhibit, "Facing the Virus: Selections from the Gold Series" by Jonathan Joseph-Ganjian.

Featuring panelists: Jacinthe, an interdisciplinary artist and community organizer from New Haven; Jonathan Joseph-Ganjian, CT-based fine artist and consultant; additional panelists to be announced. Moderated by New Haven Pride Center Executive Director Patrick J Dunn.

The 2018 Milton Fisher Scholarship Deadline is May 1!

The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity is a renewable four-year college scholarship that offers multiple awards of up to $5,000 per year for exceptionally innovative and creative high school juniors & seniors, & college freshmen.

Applicants must be:

(a) a student planning to attend or attending an educational institution in Connecticut or the New York City metropolitan area or (b) a Connecticut or New York City metropolitan area resident planning to attend or attending an institution of higher education anywhere in the United States

Apply for this scholarship if you are: a student who has solved artistic, scientific, or technical problems in new or unusual ways; a student who has come up with a distinctive solution to problems faced by your school, community or family.
